Hello World!

I don’t know how new wives and mothers did it “back in the day” before there were blogs.  Through numerous communities on the web I have found support and information that has been a tremendous help to me.  With this little web space of mine I hope you are able to find that same support that I have found.

A quick intro about who is behind this blog…
My name is Konnie.  Everyone in this blog will have fictional names in order to remain anonymous.  I plan on being real in this blog, and I’m not sure I’m ready to be that transparent with say, my mother-in-law, just in case she somehow would find my blog.
I married my college sweetheart, Markus we'll call him, in 2008.
We’re both 24.
We had our first baby, Isaiah this past March.  He decided to come 2 months earlier than expected.  He threw us for a loop at the beginning (but really, what new baby doesn’t?)  He’s amazing.  A happy, healthy boy and we couldn’t imagine our lives without him.

I have an elementary education degree.  I graduated while the economy was crashing, teachers were getting laid off, and no one was hiring.  I tutored part time for 2 years.  To add some hours to my work week I nannied during one of those 2 years.  The other year I was an assistant in a Montessori classroom.  It’s been a dream of mine to be a stay-at-home mom.  Honestly, I looked at the list of majors and decided on education because I figured it would be the most useful for my long term goals.  So really, it worked out anyway!
Then one day I went into labor and I’ve been a stay-at-home mom ever since.
My husband works in business.  He works in a cube, and does all sorts of businessy type things for his company.  That was descriptive, no?  His job sends him off to random parts of the country about once every other month or so for a few days, depending on the season.

We’re currently in the middle of moving.  Anyone who has tried to buy a short sale or foreclosure will understand how long and trying that process is.  We signed our first contract at the end of December of 2009.  Nine months later and we’re still going at it.  Yep, a whole full term pregnancy worth later.  We’ve moved a grand total of 6 times since.  We’re currently living in an extended stay hotel and pretty confident that we finally have a contract that we are going to see the closing date of!

I look forward to making friends with you all! Be sure to follow me, and comment below.  I’m always looking for new blogs to discover so be sure to leave a link to your blog with a little info about yourself as well!  You can also find me on Twitter, just in case you’re interested in knowing when I pee, eat lunch, and go to bed ;).
